The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) fosters the exchange of scientific and technical results in nuclear fusion research and development through its series of Technical Meetings and workshops.

The 12th IAEA Technical Meeting on Control, Data Acquisition and Remote Participation for Fusion Research (CODAC 2019) aims to provide a pre-eminent forum to discuss new developments and perspectives in the areas of control, data acquisition, data management and remote participation for nuclear fusion research around the world.

The CODAC 2019 is being organized by the IAEA, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Korea through the National Fusion Research Institute in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Previous meetings in this series were held in Garching, Germany (1997), Lisbon, Portugal (1999), Padova, Italy (2001), San Diego, United States of America (2003), Budapest, Hungary (2005), Inuyama, Japan (2007), Aix-en-Provence, France (2009), San Francisco, United States of America (2011), Hefei, China (2013), Ahmedabad, India (2015) and Greifswald, Germany (2017).

The meeting will take place at the Hotel ICC Daejeon (4–29 Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, Republic of Korea), with the support of the National Fusion Research Institute. Detailed information on accommodation, transportation and other relevant matters will be available on the host organization website (https://iaeatm2019.nfri.re.kr), and provided to all designated participants approximately one month before the meeting.

Designated participants who require a visa to enter the Republic of Korea should submit the necessary application to the nearest diplomatic or consular representative of Republic of Korea as soon as possible. A letter of invitation, if required, can be requested by emailing the host organization (see below).

KEY DEADLINES AND DATES

  • 15 March 2019 Deadline for submission of abstracts through IAEA-INDICO

  • 29 March 2019 Deadline for submission of Participation Form (Form A), Form for Submission of a Paper (Form B) and Grant Application Form (Form C) (if applicable) through the official channels

  • 8 April 2019 Notification of acceptance of abstracts

  • 15 April 2019 Notification of assigned grant awards

  • 13 May 2019 Meeting begins

  • 17 May 2019 Meeting ends
