Social dinner and outing

The AMPMI 2024 social dinner takes place in a restaurant located in "Suomenlinna" Sea Fortress. The fortress is a World Heritage site and can be accessed by a 15 min ferry trip from the ferry terminal at Helsinki Market Square.
One-way ferry ticket costs around 3 EUR and can be purchased from the ticket machines located in the harbour (at the Market Square and in Suomenlinna).
Suomenlinna comprises of several beautiful islands and has great amount of interesting history. Access is free of charge and visitors can explore the island freely. Please bear in mind the privacy and private areas of local residents.
The social dinner is preceded by an optional guided walking tour of Suomenlinna (more info below).

Walking tour
A joint ferry and walking tour guided by the organizers will be arranged for the AMPMI 2024 attendees and their accompanying persons starting at 2:45 pm from the ferry terminal at Market Square of Helsinki. We will take the 3:00 pm ferry and after arrival in Suomenlinna, walk through some of the most interesting sites on the islands for about 1.5 hours. Towards the end of the tour, there is a chance to stop by Cafe Piper for a drink or ice cream. After this there will still be some time to explore e.g. the Suomenlinna museum on your own. The walk involves gravel paths and sometimes an optional visit to a damp tunnel within the walls of the fortress so comfortable shoes are recommended. For the tunnels, which should be mostly dry in July, also water-tolerant shoes are recommended.
If you do not wish to join the tour, you are welcome to arrive to the restaurant self-guided by 5:45 pm.
Restaurant
AMPMI 2024 participants and their accompanying persons are welcomed to the social dinner at restaurant Adlerfelt.
Dinner is from 6 pm onwards and it is advised to arrive to the restaurant by 5:45 pm.

Deadline for registrations is Friday 12 July 2024.
