Description

“Law of the People‘s Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Radioactive Pollution 2003”, stipulates that Advance process and facilities should be reasonably applied to reduce the waste generation. Three effective measures to reduce radioactive waste include controlling of generation, using of volume reduction technique and clearance of slightly contaminated material.
According to “Activity Concentration for Material not Requiring Radiation Protection Regulation, GB 27742-2011”, its specific technical parameters are basically consistent with “Application of Concepts of Exclusion, Exemption and Clearance, IAEA RS-G-1.7”, and China has achieved clean control of APG resin, metal frame of filter, work clothes, shoes, helmet and oil. The workflow includee radiation measuring, determination of clearance limit, clearance application evaluation, necessary decontamination and other steps. At present, almost all nuclear power plants in service in China have carried out the clearance practice of APG resin. Daya Bay NPP, Lingdong NPP, Lingao NPP and others have carried out clearance practices for metal frame of filter. Hainan NPP, Haiyang NPP and Tianwan NPP are carrying out clearance practices for work clothes, shoes, helmet. Daya Bay NPP, Lingdong NPP and Lingao NPP have carried out clearance practices for oil.
