Purpose

The purpose of the event is to train participants on Heavy Liquid Metal Cooled Fast Reactors technology, within the framework of the six reactor concepts outlined by the Generation IV International Forum (GIF); to provide overview on fast neutron reactor technology; compare the different type of innovative designs with focus on reactors cooled by heavy liquid metals. 

Scope and Nature 

This training course will include a combination of classroom lectures, discussions, and interactive exercises. It will be conducted as a series of presentations by IAEA staff, international and local experts.  The Programme includes hand-on training, lecturers. demonstrations on fundamentals of LFR technology, safety analysis for LFRs, licensing and regulatory framework, practical exercises.
