Topic: Unified atomic and molecular data management policies
This Technical Meeting has a specific objective on atomic and molecular (A+M) data management policies for nuclear fusion applications. It is a follow-up to the discussions at the

Meeting on Unified Atomic and Molecular Data Policies
from 25 - 27 Nov 2024 (Forschungszentrum Julich, Germany).
The need was identified to agree on the procedure and criteria of the accepting/rating/checking of the various datasets focusing to atomic and molecular data used in fusion applications. This obviously involves other related questions like data formats, data mining at various places, data synchronisation between those etc. It became apparent that the discussions should involve EIRENE, YACORA and ERO modelling codes as well as ADAS and MCCC databases. A wider community is welcomed to join the discussions but the objective still have to be kept.
Aim of this special meeting: to unify the use of the atomic and molecular reaction data used in fusion plasma simulations, and to agree on data assessment policies. Outcome of the previous meetings (see list above) showed clear agreement not to focus to plasma-surface interactions (PSI) only as a separate topic, unless the corresponding PSI process is clearly related and linked to the atmic and molecular processes in the fusion plasma, such as the initial internal states of sputtered elements after the release form the surface. Discussions on experimental validations will be part of future discussions. Also, resource issues in terms of manpower among multiple parties of this activity, such as EUROFusion, ITER, IAEA, for productive work have been addressed.
