Description

Through the oil production process in Basra company, generated a lot of quantity of sludge, scales and produced water contaminated with Norm The goal of this study is determine the radioactive concentration for it. The samples collected from 20 sites from Basra Oil Company in south of Iraq. The results investigation by using Giger Mellor proved from Ludlum to measure the radioactive dose ,the radioactive concentration measured by using high purity of germanium detector from Ortic. The results appear increase in concentration of 226 Ra and 232 Th, and his dotter's compeer with radioactive concertation level for Basra soils. The 40K concentration is in normal level. The radioactive dose for contaminated samples with NORM (0.22-1.2) m Rad/h above than background limits in Basra city.
