Description

DURRIDGE has been an industry-leading manufacturer of radon and thoron instrumentation for over 20 years. During this time our RAD7 continuous monitor has been put to work in a diverse range of applications, from groundwater tracing to mapping environmental contamination, from dark matter physics experiments to the detection and monitoring of NORM. Here, we are excited to announce the successor to the RAD7: the DURRIDGE RAD8. The instrument has been redesigned from the ground up, incorporating feedback from endusers and taking full advantage of recent technological advances. This presentation will give an overview of the RAD8’s features, and give examples of how it can be used in NORM-related applications. We will show how a network of RAD8s can be used in conjunction with DURRIDGE's CAPTURE Cloud software to monitor radon and thoron in the air at NORM storage facilities, and how the RAD8 can be combined with our suite of radon-in-water accessories to make fast and accurate measurements of radon concentration in a variety of aquatic settings, including monitoring radium levels in brine.
