Description

Abstract. To protect the environment and public health and promote the sustainable development of mineral resources associated radioactivity (uranium and thorium),Ministry of Ecological Environment of the People's Republic of China has published the directory of radiation environment supervision and management for the exploitation and utilization of mineral resources, which is used to regulate the development and utilization of mineral resources. The name list covers 16 minerals, including rare earth, niobium/tantalum, zircon ,zirconia and so on. There are three main principles in the compilation of this directory: firstly, the radioactive activity concentration of 1Bq/g as the screening standard, as the basic conditions for inclusion in the directory. Secondly, lesson learned from international management and domestic practice experience, thirdly, make full application of the results of China’s Second National Pollution Source Census.
