Description

Abstract. China’s Second National Pollution Source Census conducted from 2017 to 2020, NORMs are the only radioactive objects in this census. This survey mainly involved the development and utilization of 15 mineral resources, including rare earth, niobium/tantalum, zircon, zirconia and tin etc. More than 30,000 enterprises were included in the preliminary survey, and nearly 2,000 enterprises were included in the detailed survey. A total of 3,500 samples including waste water, raw ore, concentrated ore and solid waste were sampled and tested, and about 20,000 data were obtained. The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has completed a comprehensive statistical analysis of the data and analyze the characteristics from different perspectives, and summarized them into a simple and conclusive chart, which can provide supports for radioactive waste management of NORM industries.
